Professional WV Wedding Officiants
The number one reason to hire a professional officiant is experience. The more experience someone has at performing wedding ceremonies, the better equipped they are to deliver a high-quality performance in the midst of an unpredictable, unscripted environment. Performing a wedding ceremony isn’t as simple as just reading a piece of paper, and many amateurs get thrown off by the near-constant distraction of mumbling guests, crying children, flying bugs, moving vendors, and the like. A professional officiant has a level of comfort that comes only from experience, and can maintain a state of calm and focus despite changing or unforeseen circumstances. This leads to a better experience for you, your families, and your guests – you can relax and enjoy your ceremony, knowing you’re in the capable hands of someone who knows exactly what to do. Since a professional officiant has the benefit of experience, they can also offer knowledge and guidance that you simply can’t get from an inexperienced amateur. A professional officiant can advise you on the proper length for your ceremony, any potential logistical challenges you might face at your venue, different options for wedding traditions to incorporate into the ceremony based on your unique circumstances, and the answers to many questions an amateur wouldn’t even know to ask. Aside from being a life-changing display of your love and commitment to one another, your wedding ceremony is also your guests’ first impression of your wedding and sets the tone for the rest of the day. If you wouldn’t trust your friend to photograph your wedding or DJ your reception, then why would you put something as important as your wedding ceremony in the hands of an amateur?
Some of the Officiants answered these questions and some didn't. You will find their answers next to their listing.

2.Do you require any pre-marital counseling or religious class? No, I do not require pre-marital counseling or religious classes before officiating a marriage, but I do offer those services free of charge to couples who request them. I also offer marriage counseling following the wedding, free of charge, if the couple hits a rough spot and requests my services.
Do you come to the rehearsal when booking with you or is this a add on? Yes, I am always happy to attend and orchestrate a Rehearsal when requested. If the venue provides a Wedding Coordinator and my services are not needed, I always provide a written script of the ceremony for their use. And, on occasions when they request that I not attend the Rehearsal, and a Wedding Coordinator is not available, I send a detailed Rehearsal Guide for their use. I always arrive an hour prior to my weddings so that I am available to do quick run-throughs if necessary as well as answer any questions the couple might have.

5.Will you be able to create a personalized ceremony? Yes, each of my ceremonies is personally written for the couples I work with and no two are ever alike. Whether it’s incorporating special family traditions, honoring inter-faith sacraments, or writing a one-of-a-kind ceremony that captures their “Love Story,” my goal is to create a ceremony that is a true reflection of the couple, the love they share and their dreams for the future.
6.Will you help us obtain our marriage license? Yes, when talking with a couple, I always give them complete details on how to obtain their Marriage License, the cost involved, and after their marriage is finalized, I complete the License and mail it back to the originating Courthouse with a copy also sent to the couple by mail.
